No permit needed for Indian nationals across most of the Meghalaya circuit. In Sikkim, Nathula and parts of North Sikkim need a Protected Area Permit — we arrange it as part of the trip.
An Inner Line Permit is mandatory for every Indian visitor to Anini, Dong, Ziro, Kaho and Gongkar La. Paperwork is handled before you set out, not at the checkpost.
Indian nationals cross with a valid passport or voter ID — no visa required. A Sustainable Development Fee applies at the border, payable on arrival.
October to April gives the clearest roads and mountain views. June to September is monsoon — higher passes can close on short notice after heavy rain.
